LOCATION PHOTO SESSION

A location photo session is a great alternative to the studio sessions and a great opportunity to capture your children at their more natural self. Whether it be running on the beach or a picnic in the park, a location shoot can capture those special intimate moments with your family. Location Photoshoots are roughly 90min - 2hours to allow for walking between locations to photograph.

Location shoots are Cardiff Based, any outside Cardiff have an extra 50p per mile surcharge, please enquire for more details

£50 deposit is required to book your photo session & the remaining is due the day before your scheduled session.

Can I choose the location of the photo session?

Yes within a certain mileage of Cardiff; additional miles will be charged which can be discussed at the time of booking. We will discuss if you have a special location where you and your family would like to have your pictures taken, perhaps where you walk the dog or spend weekends. Location photo sessions last around an hour, although can be slightly longer depending if we need to walk to desired location spots. Some good local areas are; Roath Park, Insole Court, Cefn Onn, Cosmeston (Splott lakes is a similar look too), The Wenallt for Bluebell season.

Are props included in the session?

I don't include any props with location photo sessions as standard however if you’d like me to bring the teepee tent, chairs, baskets or anything else you’ve seen on my website let me know and I can bring them along with me.

What should we wear? 

Wardrobe is important, if you are having family pictures you want to complement each other but there isn't any need to wear matching clothes.  Ideally, clothes with no logos for the children as these can be distracting.  For location photoshoots white and pastels work well to stand out against busy greenery. Please feel free to email me images of suggestions or thoughts as I am happy to offer guidance.

What if the weather on the day of the shoot is bad? 

Unfortunately, this can happen even with our British summers! It doesn't matter if the sun is not shining, this can actually make for better images with less sun glare and squinting.  It is always worth packing wellies, raincoats & hats just in case; we can still get some lovely pictures with light rain and clouds, kids love splashing in puddles!  If it is torrential rain, we will re-schedule and this won't be at any additional cost to yourself, although I might not be able to guarantee the following week due to bookings, but we will book a photo session at a mutually convenient time. 

How many images can I expect?

For the location photo session you can expect around 30-40 images depending on the session. As you are purchasing full resolution digital images, these will be yours to reproduce for personal use (no commercial licence). This means you can upload digital images to social media, print/enlarge them or send to family and friends etc. There are many websites from which you can order canvases and there are all sorts of interesting ways to display your images.  Having purchased the digital images you can now print these at a very low cost.

When will I get the digital images?

Your images will be edited within 2 weeks of the photo session.

Do you offer any discount for repeat customers?

Yes! If you have had a photo session with me previously and book again for another milestone, another child or just updated images as your children grow, you will receive 10% off as well as a free framed image of your choice.

I also have a 'Recommend a Friend' offer; for any friend that you recommend who books a photo session you will receive a free framed image of your choice.
